We entrusted the sale of our Oceanside home to Doug West. We were very cautious about listing the home; after all we had lived there for over 30 years! The home had good showings, and in spite of listing "off-season" (winter), we had a qualified buyer within 3 weeks.

Although the profession of real estate and home building is in my family blood, my initial career had very little to do with real estate. Instead, it was in education. I was a teacher for 18 years. People often ask me if I miss teaching. My response is that I teach every day. My students are no longer teenagers, but adults who specialize in their own careers. And my classroom is no longer confined to a school; it can be any house, street or neighborhood where I find myself with a client.
Everyday I interact with people who want to know more about the housing market. I work with families who are purchasing or selling their first home. And I work with families who have purchased or sold many homes. Inevitably, they all have questions. The laws involved with California real estate are constantly changing. So whether my client is a first-timer, or a veteran, it's important that I clearly educate them on how the process of buying and selling a home will be.
